DEVELOPER SPEED-DATE

The Developer Speed-date is one of Game Dev Day’s most practical networking opportunities, designed to connect developers, artists, designers, and other professionals looking for partners for new projects.

This program is specifically aimed at those who are either building their own garage project and need teammates, or who want to join an existing garage project. These are hobby projects done in your free time and are not paid positions. The real “payment” is the shared experience of creating something together, learning, and having the chance to build something special as a team.

It’s important to stress that projects like these can only succeed if every team member actively contributes — not just with ideas, but with real hands-on development work. That’s why we’re looking for active creators only, who are ready to put time and energy into the project, whether that means programming, art, music, design, or any other development role.

Pre-registration and Preparation

Participation requires pre-registration, during which you’ll share:

  • what fields you do
  • your professional level
  • your future plans
  • what kind of teammate you’re looking for

This information will be compiled into a participant database, which everyone receives a week before the event. This way, you can prepare in advance and see who might be a relevant partner for you.

How Does the Event Work?

  • Time & Location: 17:00–18:00, on the gallery level above the restaurant.
  • Tables & Rounds: The program takes place at 10 tables with 4 participants each.
  • Az eseményt kisebb és nagyobb körökre osztjuk, melyeket gongjelzés vezényel:
    • Kis kör: mindenki kap 1 percet a bemutatkozásra, majd 2 percet a kérdésekre az asztaltársaktól – ez összesen 3 perc/fő.
    • Nagy kör: amikor mind a 4 résztvevő bemutatkozott, az asztalnál összesen 12 perc telik el, majd ezt követően helycsere következik és mindenki másik asztalhoz ül.
  • Seating & Schedule: Participants rotate tables according to a pre-generated system to meet as many new people as possible.

Tools and Support

  • Everyone receives a printed participant list with 1–2 key details per person, where you can take notes and mark who you’d like to follow up with later.
  • After the structured speed networking, the after-party provides the perfect opportunity to deepen connections with those you found especially interesting or professionally relevant.

Mivel a helyszín kapacitása korlátozott, maximum 40 fő vehet részt a programon. Arra is figyelünk, hogy különböző szakterületekről érkező résztvevők egyenlő arányban legyenek jelen, így érdemes minél előbb jelentkezned, hogy biztosítsd a helyed.

Ebből eredően nincs jelentkezési határidő, a jelentkezéseket a kapacitás feltöltéséig fogadjuk.
